About Mulga.
Community. Respect. Connected.
Mulga is an Indigenous-owned business founded by Shannon Brahim, a Warumungu man living on Larrakia Country. With decades of experience in the security industry, Shannon’s path shifted after working on the Royal Commission into The Protection and Detention of Children in the Northern Territory. A powerful conversation during that time sparked a deeper realisation: real change in community starts with connection, care, and a culturally grounded approach.
Backed by a clear vision and the courage to lead differently, Shannon established Mulga – a company built on cultural safety, proactive support, and respect. From the start, the focus has been on more than just security. It’s about working alongside community, building relationships, creating opportunities, and keeping people safe - the right way.
Our Approach
Mulga delivers frontline safety services, youth programs, and accredited and non-accredited training across the NT. Everything we do is guided by local knowledge, community voices, and calm, culturally informed engagement.
We specialise in:
Community-Based Safety – Delivering trusted support at events and venues, along with overnight asset protection, to help maintain calm and safety in the community.
Empowering Young People – Culturally safe mentoring, connection-based programs, and meaningful engagement to support positive pathways for youth.
Delivering Local Training – Accredited security training and specialist de-escalation workshops that grow local capability and create employment pathways.
Why We Do It
Mulga is about more than service delivery – it’s about building safer futures.
We believe everyone deserves to feel safe, seen, and supported. That’s why we train, employ, and mentor Indigenous workers wherever possible, ensuring our services are grounded in culture, community, and care.
Our team includes both Indigenous and non-Indigenous staff who share a commitment to making a difference - through calm communication, strong local presence, and respectful action.
Creating Pathways
Our training programs don’t end in the classroom. We offer real pathways into employment through roles in Night Patrol, community outreach, and with Mulga itself. Every program is a chance to grow skills, build confidence, and take pride in protecting community.
Whether it’s a young person needing support, a community looking for safety solutions, or someone ready to step into a new career – Mulga is here to walk alongside them.
