Empowering Young People.

Positive Pathways for Young People - Built on Trust

At Mulga, we believe young people thrive when they feel connected, respected, and guided. That’s why we work directly with youth in community settings to offer mentoring, routine, and a listening ear.

What We Do

Youth Engagement

We’ve built strong, long-standing relationships with youth services and young people across Darwin and Palmerston. Our team works to create safe, positive spaces where young people feel welcome and supported. We participate in and support a variety of community-based activities that encourage connection, routine, and pride.

Youth Mentoring & Role Modelling

Strong local staff build rapport and trust, guiding young people with calm support and cultural understanding. We lead by example, helping youth find their place in the community.

After-Hours Youth Engagement

We run or support structured activities that offer safe, fun alternatives to risk-taking behaviour – including sport, arts, and drop-in programs.

Community Outreach

We engage with young people through alternative programs and after-school activities, providing diversion, early intervention and mentoring support within local communities.

Diversion & Early Intervention

We step in early to help young people stay connected to culture, community, and opportunity – before they reach crisis point.

Youth-Focused De-escalation

Our calm, culturally respectful approach helps diffuse conflict and gives young people the chance to feel heard, not judged.

Why It Matters

Our work is built on respect and presence – it’s about showing up consistently, offering real support, and helping young people take pride in who they are and where they’re going. Our work supports long-term change by building trust, strengthening identity, and helping youth feel part of something bigger.
